This year, the Screen Music Lab is collaborating with UBISOFT to present the very first Video Game edition. This program aims to facilitate the development of artistic and professional knowledge of video game music, offer experiences close to the real contexts and environments of this field, and provoke networking opportunities in order to build a prosperous career as a music creator.
From November 20th to 22nd, 2024, 8 composers will have the chance to create approximately five minutes of music from a legendary UBISOFT video game, in the company of Simon Landry (music supervisor) and other members of the Montreal-based company’s creative team. Participants will form teams of two and have access to a musician and a specific instrument to explore possibilities, work on textures and record everything in the studio.
These three creative days will culminate in a closing networking event where participants will present their projects in front of guests from the video game and music industries.
